In the short-form narrative PRELUDE., two children, Ellipsis and Eilikrin, must work together to navigate the challenges they face growing up in a dystopian world where no one over the age of sixteen is allowed to speak. The protagonists must race against time as their childhood flies by rapidly, hoping desperately to unlock the secrets of maintaining their light before it's too late. The narrative delves deeply into a world of allegory and symbolism to portray what it is that causes us to lose our joy and meaning, and what we must do to fight back against these forces. It touches on topics such as mental health and anxiety, religious trauma and purpose, friendship, love, co-dependency, addiction, and so much more. It is my hope that by following these characters into the dark, you will see what you must do to reach the light.
